Whats the diffrence between a novel and a book?

Lol, This seems like a VERY dumb question and very random .. but im just wondering. i dont think theres that much of a diffrence .. whats your opinion?
the big difference is the length ... most books are less than 300 pages and most novels are 400 pages or more longer
a novel sounds more serious. books are fun.
a novel has chapters!!!! duhhh!!!!!!!!

A novel is always ficticious, not real. A book can be on any topic and might be based on truth, non fiction.
A novel is a fictitious story in a book.

A book is a printed (or written) work consisting of pages fixed together, and has a cover of some sort.

A dictionary is a book, an autobiography is a book, a cookery book is a book, but none of them is a novel
